Original framed work dated 2004 by the painter Guillaume Corneille (1922-2010), born in Liège of Dutch parents, founding member of the Cobra group with Karel Appel, Asger Jorn, Constant, Dotremont, Jacques Doucet or Alechinsky. Dimensions : 24 x 22 cm. Size of frame: 37 x 35 cm. Atelier Corneille stamp on the back. Delivered with a certificate of authenticity from the Guillaume Corneille Foundation. Work referenced and reproduced in black & white in an intermediate state in black ink, before its colouring, in the catalogue Cuba, by Corneille and Nico Koster, Studio Koster editions, 2004. A beautiful work in memory of the Caribbean, a region that the travelling painter appreciated very much, and a reference to his beginnings: the Cobra snake.
