Cobra exhibition with the largest American collection of Cornelius in Miami in spring and summer 2023. Retrospective of Corneille's work at the Cobra Museum in Amstelveen, which ended on 15 January. Atelier Corneille stamp on the back. A flamboyant work reproduced in numerous books. In the wake of Gauguin and Matisse, Corneille created a jovial and colourful work which celebrates harmony with nature. Here the four elements are represented. The erupting volcano is a nod to the Italian landscape, the painter having set up his studio for several years in a medieval tower near Macerata. It is also a reference to the Mediterranean, which has regularly inspired her work. Original serigraph by the painter Guillaume Corneille (1922-2010), born in Liège of Dutch parents, founding member of the Cobra movement. Signed and dated in pencil by the artist - Numbered EA 5/20 Total dimensions : 64 x 70 cm - Dimensions of the work : 40 x 44 cm.
