Gerard Boersma is known for his paintings of people on the streets, in stores, public transport and museums or zoom in on everyday objects. This work of 36 x 64 cm shows a bookshelf of books on art. Most obvious is of course the book with the portrait of Marilyn Monroe by Andy Warhol. Insprired by Albrecht Dürer the artist painted a magic square the left corner below. When one counts all the rows in whatever direction one ends up with the same number over again. The magic squares also shows the year of creation. The work dates from 2019 and is made with acrylic on masonite. Signed on the back and comes with a label of the artist as well as a Certificate Of Authenticity. About the artist: Gerard Boersma is an international recognized artist for over 18 years well known for his own style of realism painting. His art is in museums, galleries and private collections worldwide (6 continents, 30 countries). In 2018 he showed his works alongside Warhol, Haring, Banksy and others at a group show at his art dealer in France.. He lives and works in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands.
