Born in Pittsburgh, the artist worked under the synonym Asch and grew up surrounded by his father's DC Comics icons. Asch himself, however, is more devoted to music and studies saxophone at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. In the late 1980s he became increasingly active in the New York graffiti scene. After a long search for the right motif, he first designed invitation cards and advertisements for an advertising agency specialized in fonts. After his father's death, Asch returns to Pittsburgh and takes over his father's comic collection. Inspired by his childhood heroes, Asch finally discovers his leitmotif for art and combines his passion for music with the stars of old DC Comics.
