MAN LOST IN THE WOODS (Verdwaald) - unique oil painting by Dutch expressionist and Cobra painter Martin van Wordragen (1928-2011) - oil paint on paper board - 65x52 cm - frame not included (very heavy), except when picked up in Amsterdam - there are some oil drips visible on the painting. MARTIN VAN WORDRAGEN was a famous Dutch painter, born in 1928 in Ammerzoden, Holland. He was part of the Cobra-movement and the Flamish Expressionists. He has had exhibitions together with artists as Karel Appel, Corneille, Lucebert and Pierre Alechinsky, mostly in Holland, Belgium and Germany. In 1948, when Holland celebrated the inauguration of Queen Juliana, Martin received the honorable commission to paint a meter-high portrait of the new queen, which jump-started his career and made him well-known in Holland and abroad.
