For these works I started from a self-made photo of a cormorant that looked quite mysterious; only the silhouette and a few small details were visible. Recently I saw a documentary about how birds see each other. They apparently see more colors than humans. That is the starting point of the submitted works. The multicolored work is my interpretation of how other birds would see this cormorant, the gray work how we see the cormorant. The other 2 are artistic own interpretations. Intro artist: On @saartjes_art Instagram you will notice that there are mainly bird illustrations, but not just birds. They are birds that appeared in front of my lens, birds that I enjoyed looking for and photographing again and again. Starting from the photos taken, I make drawings in which I try to reflect the atmosphere of the moment and the character of the bird.
