Childhood is the breeding ground for the rest of our lives. We sow the seeds of what we will become, of our individualities, of what will make us who we are. Rupi Kaur's words inspire me with the raw sweetness that is childhood, and the beauty of moving forward, against all odds. Because life, sometimes sweet, sometimes noisy, makes its way and always flourishes. With a pen still in hand, I first started my career as an artist with calligraphy. It was by illustrating these dancing words that I reconnected with my old watercolor palette, and now it has a place of honor in my studio.
