Color offset lithograph by Christo. The work is hand signed. At dawn on October 9, 1991, the 1,880 workers of Christo and Jeanne-Claude began to open the 3,100 umbrellas of Ibaraki and California, in the presence of artists from both places. This temporary work of art from Japan and the United States reflected the similarities and differences in the way of life and land use in two inland valleys. The artwork was 19 kilometers long in Japan and the other 29 kilometers long in America
