This lithograph was made in Paris as an 'affiche avant la lettre' for the book 'Luc Tuymans, relevé de la mort' by Hélène Cixous and has as its theme an important portrait from the series 'Der Diagnostic Blick' from 1992. The portrait that served as the basis for this edition is 'Der Diagnostic Blick V' and shows a woman with anemia. The face is very flat, so it looks like a mask. Compared to the painting, the color of the lithograph is completely distorted to only red tones. An intriguing portrait! The size of this lithograph (119cm x 78) and the subject make it an impressive edition. The size of the image in relation to the sheet is also exceptional: except for an edge of 10 cm, the image is almost full page. The work is framed with UV-resistant glass. The work and frame are in excellent condition.
