Kommil Foo is a Flemish cabaret duo, consisting of the brothers Raf Walschaerts (2 October 1965) and Mich Walschaerts (10 March 1969).
Raf and Mich Walschaerts were born as sons of Jef Walschaerts (teacher at the former Don Bosco-Mariaberg Institute) and Chris Roodhooft. They grew up in Essen. Raf studied psychology and Mich followed an acting course in Antwerp.
In 1987 the brothers gave their first performance as "Kommil Foo" (a corruption of the French "comme il faut" ("as it should be")) in a Ghent student club. In 1988 they presented their first real performance Ballade. Between 1988 and 1992, the brothers wrote three musical theater programs. With varying degrees of success they played in youth centers, small theaters, and so on. At the end of 1992, the duo's fourth program 'Plank' was awarded in Rotterdam. The jury called it a 'perfect duo with a great future'. Plank marked the duo's breakthrough and was performed more than 250 times in Flanders and the Netherlands.
In 1993 Mark Uytterhoeven saw a performance of "Kommil Foo", and he invited them to participate in his television program Morgen Monday. They sang a musical introduction to each episode and occasionally performed skits as well. This made them known to the general public. In 2001 they also appeared again in Uytterhoeven's program Everything comes back, in which they had a column in which they performed a weekly comic monologue.
In 1998 they played their jubilee performance with an extensive orchestra '10 years Kommil Foo: the very best' and in 2002 the 15th jubilee was celebrated in the Sportpaleis in Antwerp. In 2004 the duo was the central guest on Nekka-Nacht. In the meantime, they continue to tour successfully in Flemish and Dutch theatres.
In 2019 they took part in Love for music (television program).
Raf and Mich also worked separately on other cabaret, theater and children's theater productions.
