The birdcage was signed and provided with a small drawing. The cage dates from 2005, these were sold (including a bird) at the bird market by the market squatter who was positioned in front of Panamarenko's house. The market vendor had not yet sold anything until Panamarenko found something on it... Panamarenko signed the bird vendor's cages and in no time it was completely sold out.

The birdcage itself is a simple wooden painted construction. One stick is broken in the 'roof', a few smaller pieces of paint come loose at the front.
