This screen print was hand printed by master screen printer Wout van der Vet and numbered and signed in pencil by the artist Antoon de Clerck. Is no. 53 from the edition. As new.
Antoon De Clerck - Roger Raveel's childhood friend - re-established himself from 1965 - within the climate of the New Vision fully dedicated to his painting activities. This innovative view of his childhood friend Roger Raveel and a number of young artists from the Leie region showed similarities with pop art, but at the same time a projection of the images from everyday reality took place against time and space. Antoon De Clerck was closely involved in the breakthrough of the New Vision on the Flemish art scene as designer of the catalog for the project in the basement corridors of the castle of Beervelde (1966-67), as a participant in the manifestation Dulciakunst in Zottegem (1969) and as organizer of the Art-School-Environment exhibition in Deinze (1970). In 1969 he received the Hoogeland Prize - Prize from the Province of West Flanders. In 1971 he received a special mention at the International prize for painting of the city of Knokke and in the same year he received the bronze medal of the European prize for painting of the city of Ostend.
