Large format screen print by Georges Collignon, signed and numbered on 50 copies. The work is framed in a wooden frame. Both the work and the frame are in good condition.

Georges Collignon was born on August 26, 1923 in Flémalle-Haute. He was active as a painter. Collignon attended art education in Liège from 1939 to 1945. In that place he briefly led the group Realité, which because of its alleged relationship with Cobra also called Cobra Realité. In 1946 he joined the Jeune peinture belge group. Collignon was only indirectly involved with Cobra. In 1950 he exhibited with Pierre Alechinsky (1927), Jacques Doucet (1924-1994) and Corneille (1922-2010) in the Paris gallery Maeght and in 1951 his work was present at an exhibition organized by Michel Ragon (1924). Collignon illustrated a book by the Walloon Belgian writer Brian Martinoir (1921-1990), which was included in the last issue of the Cobra magazine. His aesthetic abstract work was shown at the Liège exhibition in 1951. In 1952 he co-founded the group Art Abstrait. His work has been exhibited several times at home and abroad.
