Bather. Oil on canvas. Signed 'A Favory'. Dimensions: 61 x 38 cm (76 x 53 cm) André Favory was born in Paris in 1889, he studied at the Julian Academy where he met Jean Metzinger and Marie Laurencin. He also associated with André Lhote and was influenced by Cézanne. At the beginning of his career, Favory painted in a cubist style. In 1909 he had his first exhibition and in 1913 decided to make painting his profession.
