Beautiful screen print made for a music festival. Aida (Aïda in French) is an opera in four acts by Giuseppe Verdi, on a libretto by Antonio Ghislanzoni based on a plot by Auguste Mariette. It was premiered on 24 December 1871 at the Khedival Opera House in Cairo. Guillaume Corneille refers to this first performance in Cairo by the Egyptian pyramids, and also to an autobiographical event: a personal exhibition in October 1989 organised at the French Cultural Centre in Alexandria, for which he travelled. Signed at the bottom, titled and dated by the painter in graphite. Dimensions within passe partout : 53 x 44 cm. Total dimensions : 90 x 69 cm.
