This year we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the painter! Beautiful lithograph of a couple in a solar landscape. Exhibiting many times in Antwerp in the early 2000s, Guillaume Corneille painted several versions of "Hand cut" referring to the city. The Severed Hand is a legend about the origin of Antwerp. It has become a famous pastry in Flemish Belgium: cookies cut in the shape of hands. She says that the giant Druon Antigoon demanded a large toll from all sailors who wanted to go up the course of the Scheldt and cut off the hands of people who refused to pay before throwing them into the current of the river. Guillaume Corneille, "painter of happiness", creates a more jovial version of the legend of the Main of Antwerp! Original lithograph by the painter Guillaume Corneille (1922-2010), born in Liège to Dutch parents and founding member of the Cobra movement. The quality of the lithography is such that it gives the impression of having brushstrokes in front of you.
